Day 23: Another scorcher

Day 23: Another scorcher

Today was a 100km ride from Estavsyer Le Lac to Solothurn. It was thankfully mostly flat along the Aare River but there were a couple unnecessary ascents into towns to test our thighs.

We can't tell if we are just doing less hills or in better shape but we can keep up an average speed of 25 km/hr which allows us to get to our destination pretty quick

That speed was great for today as again temperatures reached 99. We arrived at camp around 2 and collapsed after setting everything up. Nate left to go find a computer to get some work done, Mark took a shower, and Matt took a nap.

Thankfully we are camping along the river and so Nate and Matt cooled off in the river by floating the sleeping pad down a little ways. Also, the forecast is calling for 80% chance of thunderstorms tonight so hopefully that will break this heat!! We think it's already cooler already but how well we sleep tonight will be the actual test.

Tomorrow we reach Zurich and have a rest day there. We are also meeting up with Matt and Mark's friend Mike who will probably have some interesting tales about his tales through Europe.
